Used in reverse cycle air conditioning systems, the reversing valve allows the refrigeration to flow one way for cooling operation and the reverse way for heating.

A cooling only air conditioning system does not have the reversing valve installed. The cost of the reversing valve is very small and most systems installed in Sydney and N.S.W. are fitted with the reversing valve.
